M+ Deposit Problems — Complete Troubleshooting Guide

Depositing money to your M+ account should be simple, but sometimes issues occur — money not appearing, pending status, FPX failures, or balance not updating. This article lists all common deposit problems and how to resolve them.
Deposit Successful But Money Not Showing
This is the most common issue. Money has been deducted from your bank but Available Trading Limit or Trust Account is still empty.
Causes & Solutions
| Cause | Solution |
|---|---|
| System not yet updated | FPX deposits usually update within 15–30 minutes. On business days, wait until after lunch hour |
| Deposit outside working hours | Deposits made after 4 PM or on weekends/public holidays will only update on the next business day |
| Deposit using Direct Transfer | Direct transfers (not FPX) require uploading proof in the M+Global app → Offline Deposit. Without upload, M+ doesn't know who the money belongs to |
| Wrong receiving bank selected | Make sure to select "Malacca Securities" (not regular Maybank) when doing FPX deposit |
| Amount too small (below RM 10) | Deposits below RM 10 may not reflect in ATL. Recommended minimum is RM 100 |
Tip: If more than 1 hour has passed and money still hasn't appeared (business day), screenshot your bank transaction proof and contact M+ customer service at 1300 22 1233 or the Mahersaham team.
Deposit Status Pending
Deposit status shows "Pending" and doesn't change to "Successful":
Common Reasons
- Deposit from 3rd party account — Deposits from someone else's bank account (including spouse) will remain pending until manually verified by M+
- Deposit from a different bank than registered — If you registered with Maybank but deposit from CIMB (under your own name), it will still go through — just may be slightly delayed
- FPX technical issue — Sometimes FPX has disruptions. Try again after a few hours
3rd Party Deposit — Rules
M+ Rule: Only deposits from bank accounts under your own name are processed automatically. Third party deposits are only accepted from:
- Spouse (requires verification)
- Company account (requires documentation)
Other third party deposits will be rejected and you need to request a refund via M+ email.
Deposit Failed
Deposit shows "Failed" or "Unsuccessful" status:
| Cause | Explanation | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Wrong receiving bank selected | Selected wrong bank during FPX (not Malacca Securities) | Make a new deposit and select the correct bank. Wrongly transferred money will be refunded |
| Insufficient FPX limit | Your daily online banking limit is not enough | Increase limit in your banking app or deposit the next day |
| Bank rejected transaction | Your bank rejected the transaction (common for new accounts) | Contact your bank to enable FPX transactions to brokers |
| Session timeout | Took too long on the payment page | Try again and complete the payment process quickly |
| Bank maintenance | Bank undergoing maintenance | Try after maintenance ends (usually 12 AM - 6 AM) |
Minimum Deposit & Charges
Minimum Deposit
- FPX (Online Banking): Minimum RM 1,000 per transaction
- Direct Transfer (ATM/CDM/IBG): No minimum, but recommended minimum RM 100
- Charge for deposits below RM 100: M+ charges RM 1 for each deposit below RM 100
How to Deposit Below RM 1,000
If FPX requires minimum RM 1,000 but you want to deposit a smaller amount:
- Use Direct Transfer — Transfer via regular online banking (IBG/Instant Transfer) to your M+ account
- Upload proof in app — After transfer, open M+Global → Menu → Deposit → Offline Deposit → Upload payment proof
- Select "Bursa" — Make sure to select the Bursa section (not HK/US) when uploading
- Wait for processing — Offline deposits take a few hours up to 1 business day
Important: Remarks/Reference during transfer must be correct. Enter your Client Code as reference so M+ can identify the deposit belongs to your account.
Deposit Received But Cannot Trade
Situation where money has entered Trust Account but Available Trading Limit is still zero or orders are rejected:
- Dormant/inactive old account — If your account has been inactive for a long time, it needs reactivation before you can trade. Read: CDS Account Activation Guide
- Outstanding contra loss — New deposits will be used to cover outstanding contra losses first
- System not synced — Trust Account and ATL sometimes update at different times. Wait until after lunch hour
- Account frozen — Contact M+ customer service for verification
Depositing From a Different Bank
Common question: "I registered with Maybank, can I deposit from CIMB?"
Answer: Yes, as long as the bank account holder name matches the CDS account holder name. You can deposit from any bank you own — it doesn't have to be the bank registered during account opening.
What Needs to Match?
- Must match: Bank account holder name = CDS account holder name
- Doesn't need to match: Bank can be different (Maybank, CIMB, RHB, Bank Islam, etc.)
Deposit Troubleshooting Checklist
If your deposit is not working, check one by one:
- Has money been deducted from your bank account? (Check bank statement)
- How long has it been? (FPX: 15–30 min, Direct: a few hours–1 business day)
- Deposited on a business day? (Weekends/holidays take longer to update)
- Selected correct receiving bank? (Malacca Securities for FPX)
- Bank account name same as CDS name? (3rd party = pending)
- Offline deposit — uploaded proof? (Required for direct transfers)
- Reference/Remarks correct? (Enter your Client Code)
Frequently Asked Questions
Can I deposit RM 10 into my M+ account?
Technically yes, but deposits too small may not reflect in Available Trading Limit. Recommended minimum is RM 100. Deposits below RM 100 also incur a RM 1 charge.
FPX minimum is RM 1,000 — any other way?
Yes, use Direct Transfer (IBG/Instant Transfer) from online banking and upload proof in M+Global app → Offline Deposit.
Can I deposit from a Singapore bank?
For overseas deposits, you need to use telegraphic transfer (TT) to the M+ account. TT charges depend on the sending bank. Contact the Mahersaham team for recipient account details.
Money disappeared after deposit — what happened?
Money will not disappear. Most likely it entered a new CDS account (if there's a migration from old to new account), or is still processing. Contact M+ for a cash movement statement check.
How many times can I deposit in a day?
There is no limit on how many times you can deposit. However, FPX is subject to your bank's daily limit. Direct transfers have no frequency limit.
