Since 10 June 2024, diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia surged 56% from RM2.15 to RM3.35 per litre. This increase is part of the government's diesel subsidy rationalization policy aimed at saving approximately RM5 billion per year. However, the government did not leave citizens without support - the BUDI Individu program was introduced to help eligible diesel vehicle owners with RM200 monthly cash assistance.

BUDI Individu is one of the categories under the BUDI MADANI (Bantuan Subsidi MADANI) program. It is a monthly cash assistance of RM200 disbursed to private diesel vehicle owners from non-T20 households in Peninsular Malaysia.
The program was introduced simultaneously with the diesel subsidy rationalization on 10 June 2024 as a measure to offset the increase in daily transportation costs.

The RM200 monthly aid is equivalent to approximately 167 litres of diesel at the original price difference rate. While it does not fully cover the increased cost, it eases the financial burden for diesel vehicle owners especially from the B40 and M40 income groups.

Since the rationalization in June 2024, diesel prices in Peninsular Malaysia are set weekly based on the Automatic Pricing Mechanism (APM):

For residents of Sabah, Sarawak and Labuan, diesel prices remain at RM2.15 per litre and they do not need to apply for BUDI Individu.

The aid is limited to one owner, one vehicle only. You cannot register more than one vehicle to receive double assistance.
Payments will be stopped immediately. You need to renew your road tax and reapply to resume receiving payments.
